Hookworms:

   - Transmission: Typically contracted through skin contact with contaminated soil, particularly in tropical or subtropical regions.

   - Life Cycle: The larvae penetrate the skin, migrate through the bloodstream to the lungs, and are swallowed to reach the intestines.

   - Prevention: Wear shoes in contaminated areas, practice good sanitation, and avoid walking barefoot in areas known to harbor hookworm
